Incredibly Tiny Realistic Paintings By Karen Libecap
Karen Libecap passion is to create really tiny, incredibly detailed paintings of animals, objects, pop-culture characters, book covers, and movie scenes.
She started to draw at a very young age and was surrounded by a supportive family and community of artists. Her mother was an oil painter/sculptor who encouraged her to pursue her distinctive style.
The canvas for her paintings that measure 1 ¼” x 1 ¼ or less. She uses different kinds of media: water color, acrylics, clay, encaustic wax, pastels, oils and color pencils.
She is a graduate of graphic design at Kent State University and worked as Art Director in major cities such as Chicago, Cincinnati and Columbus, OH. For over 20 years, she has been doing architecture renderings and portraits in which she developed a style of capturing every detail of her subject.
In 2013, Libecap received Hoover Arts Alliance Award from Alabama Pastel Society.
