Need Extra Space? This Chair Disappears In Two Seconds
This chair looks like a regular chair but you will be surprised when you pull the strings attached. In just a snap, the chair flattens immediately.
The Ollie Chair, as it is called, was developed by the New York-based engineering and design firm, Rock Paper Robot. The Ollie chair’s prime feature is its flexible design: it folds and flattens into a small size for easy storage and is perfect for small spaces. It is sturdily made with lightweight materials and capable of handling weight up to 300 pounds.
It can be sold with the Ollie Table, a table that is vertically mounted on the wall and can be rolled-out to a preferred length and rolled-in when not in use.
"With transformable furniture, we can influence how spaces are being used," Rock Paper Robot founder Jessica Banks tells the Fast Company.
"I didn't set out to do a chair," she says. "There are a lot of folding chairs in the world and because of that very fact I was reluctant. However, if you have a table that folds flat against the wall, someone will ask about the chairs. Then I thought we needed some chairs that will disappear as well."
