The Fab Four Of Florida Has A Combined Age Of 362 Years
Dubbed as the “Fab Four”, the amazing team from Florida has broken several age-group records in swimming. Meet Bill Adams, John Corse, Ed Gaves, and Tiger Holmes. Their ages are 88, 90, 91, and 93 years old respectively.
According to U.S. Masters Swimming, the Fab Four broke several relay world and national records at the Sixth Annual Rowdy Gaines Masters Clinic on October 2014. The incredible team joined the oldest age group in the men’s division which is 360+ and set records for 400 and 800 freestyle relays, national records for 200 and 400 freestyle relays, and the 200 medley relay.
The Fab Four each returned to Jacksonville and reconnected after they retired from their careers. They were childhood friends and one thing they had in common is their love for swimming.
Tiger Holmes, who has been swimming all his life, convinced his three colleagues to hit the pool again. Since then, swimming has been their form of bonding three days a week.
Three-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines who is the host of the event was so impressed with the team. He said, “nothing like this has ever been done in our sport in the history of our sport this is the first time I’m so proud of you and I’m so honored to be able to be in your presence I really am.”
