For almost five years, Hungarian photographer Mark Mervai searched constantly for the perfect time and the perfect lights over Budapest. He said, “For me, the most beautiful moment is when the sun comes up the horizon and the day begins with a couple of colourful minutes. Also the last lights of the day for me symbolize a special moment, a “thank you” from nature for a beautiful day.”
Mark finally finished his project and the images show us the mesmerizing beauty of his homeland, like the sunset over the Eastern & Western Railway Stations and the silhouette of the Hungarian Parliament amidst the darkening skies.
Budapest was originally two cities, called Buda and Pest, divided by the Danube River. The two cities became one in 1873. Located in the central northern section of the country, Budapest is the largest city and the capital of Hungary.
