This is Lencois Maranhenses National Park in Brazil, an amazing desert with many blue lagoons between its sand dunes. This natural scenery is a result of collapsed sand dunes during the rainy season.

The stunning place is located in Maranhao state, which has over 598 square miles of white sand dunes with heights up to 131 feet. It became a national park in 1981 and since then has been one of the most visited place in the country with over 60,000 tourists every year.

Personal vehicles are not allowed on this place but many travel agencies will offer 4 x 4 tours that will take you to the beautiful lagoons, beaches, mangroves, and fishing village.
