This Man Creates Hyper Realistic Paintings Of Rainy Windshields

Rain evokes a variety of emotions.  Some people love falling asleep to the sound of rain.  Some became sad, romantic, or even nostalgic.

For Francis McCrory, a visual artist from Belfast, Norther Ireland, rain for him is an opportunity to create a masterpiece.

He paints hyper-realistic paintings of rainy windshields.  Francis transfers what he sees on canvas using oil paints as his medium.  He creates the exact scene: the rapid shape distortions of rain drops, the blurred car lights and the shady environment.  His art is very unique.  It’s like looking through the window of your car on a rainy day.

In 2006, Francis was awarded as “Best Emerging Artist” by Diageo and again for the same category in 2007 with the prestigious KPMG Award.  In 2011, he was recognized by the Belfast Media Group for the “Top 40 under 40 Award”. He has had numerous exhibitions since 2004.

Francis earned his Fine Arts degree in the University of Ulster.
