There is a park in Costa Rica that has been taken over by almost a thousand dogs roaming around freely in this lush and scenic land.
Located in the northern part of the country, Territorio de Zaguates or “Land of the Strays”, is a sanctuary for more than 900 neglected dogs. It is a non-profit organization founded by Lya Battle and Alvaro Saumet, who have been committing themselves to promoting animal welfare and respect for animals in the past eight years.
The public are very much welcome to visit the shelter and experience having some fun interaction with the happy dogs. Visitors are free to play and walk with them in this stress-free beautiful environment.
The organization is actually looking for potential adopters who can provide proper care and utmost love for the animals like they do. For those who are interested in adopting, visit their page to view thousands of photos and you can pay a visit anytime.
“Our mission is to find a home for all dogs that are in our care. We are a temporary home for hundreds of dogs looking for a second chance, and we are also the permanent home of many others who may never find their own family”, the organization’s mission written on their Facebook page.
