Urban Farm At Pasona Group - A Farm Inside An Office

Employees at Pasona Group in Tokyo, Japan share their workplace with over 200 varieties of crops. Their office was designed with spaces dedicated only for vertical farming. Using hydroponics and soil based farming, they are able to grow and harvest their own food which is served in their cafeteria.

Inside offices, you will notice rice and lettuce planted in the lobby. Tomato vines hang inside guest rooms. Blueberries, passion fruits, and herbs have become natural decorations and partition walls on the second floor. Flowers and oranges are planted on balconies and can be seen outside the building.

This concept was designed by Kono Designs in 2011 and according to their website, “it is the largest and most direct farm-to-table of its kind ever realized inside an office building in Japan.”
